 Abstract
 
In this article the impact of  computers and the Internet on mathematics is discussed.  It is argued that this influence will be considerable and will lead to the commercialization of the tools for producing and teaching mathematics. Some simple examples are presented to illustrate the possible dangers that such commercial influence might have while also illustrating possible benefits.  Some speculation on the fact that computers deal only with discrete entities is advanced.
