What is Christaf ?

Christaf is a group of Christian Staff at USQ. Some of us are Academic, and some General staff. While most of us are current Staff members, there are a few former members of staff and some people from the Toowoomba community who maintain an interest in USQ.

Christaf is non-denominational and has the following aims:

• to share Christ's love on campus and proclaim the truth that He has saved us;
• to provide opportunities for people to grow in their relationship with God;
• to promote fellowship among Christian Staff;
• to uplift the University in prayer;
• to be Christ-like in our relationships with fellow Staff & Students;
• to put Christ first in our work (e.g. in the decisions we make); and
• to support Christian students in the challenges they face in a secular world.

The idea for Christaf began with a group of Staff who meet regularly for prayer and worship in the Chaplaincy. We wanted to let others know that we were there. While several groups are available on Campus to cater to the needs of Christian students, there seemed to be nothing for Christian Staff, hence Christaf was born. The name comes from the christaf mailing list that has been established as a point of contact.

In the past, we have been involved in Christian Issues seminars oncampus and social/fellowship activities. We would welcome opportunities to broaden the range of Christian Staff activities on campus and will seek feedback through the mailing list and these web pages.
