An irradiation model of planetary formation may allow the existence of Earth-sized planets surrounding SVPs whose characteristics favour the gravitational binding of outflown material. Furthermore, the characteristics of the mass outflow make plausible the formation of planets at large distances from RD-LMXBs. Infrared emission might be detectable from circum- binary disks, and we urge systematic observations of SVPs and LMXBs.
