Description:
The data give the number of people strip-searched, and the numbers of those people released with no charges laid.

There are four variables, on 12 observations.

Variables:
District The town or district
Gender The gender: M means male and F means female
Searched The number of people strip-searched
NotCharged The number of people not charged after being strip-searched
Data Quality:
There are no missing values.

Notes:
The data were collected in response to pressure about the number of people being strip-searched, but subsequently released. The article states (parentheses added): Of 17, 671 people strip-searched in the 13-month period (April 1998 to May 1999) statewide, 5837 were not charged. At some stations, up to 95% were released.
