Oxidation rate of benzene

Access entire data file
Access subset of data file
Keywords:
oxidation; chemical kinetics
Categories:
science and engineering;
generalized linear models
Description:
The data give the initial rate of benzene oxidation over a vanadium oxide catalyst using three different reaction temperatures and varing oxygen and bezene concentrations.

There are 54 observations on six variables (entire data file) or on four variables (subset data file). The first column in each is an identifier.

Variables:
Run An identifer
Conc.O The oxygen concentration (by 10,000 gmole/litre)
Conc.B Benzene concentration (by 10,000 gmole/litre) (only appears in entire data file)
Temp The temperature (in degrees Kelvin)
O.per.B The observed number of moles of oxygen consumed per mole of benzene (only appears in entire data file)
Rate The reaction rate (by 1019 gmole/gram of catalyst-second)
Data Quality:
There are no missing values.

Notes:
The reduced data set only gives data for Benzene concentration near 20 (actually, larger than 19 and smaller than 21). It also omits the variables O.per.B and Conc.B
