Cell mutant frequencies in children

Access data file
Keywords:
cells; mutation; hprt locus
Categories:
generalized linear models;
science
Description:
The data give the "somatic cell mutant frequencies at the hrpt locus of the X-chormosome" in healthy children.

There are 49 observations on four variables, plus an identifier

Variables:
Donor The donor identifier
Sex The sex of the child; either M for males or F for females
Age The age of the child (in years)
Ceff The mean unselected cloning efficiency
Mfreq The mutant frequencies (×10-6)
Data Quality:
There are no missing values.

Determination of hprt mutant frequencies in T-lymphocytes from a healthy pediatric population: statistical comparison between newborn, children and adult mutant frequencies, cloning efficiency and age, in Mutation Research, 308, 223--231.
Notes:
In the original paper, the children are sometimes referred to as belongiong to Group II (Ages 0 to 5), Group III (Ages 6 to 11) or Group IV (Ages 12 to 17). (Group I refers to cord data referenced to another article.) The Ages may be treated as categorical with these categories.
