Loss of consciousness in pilots

Access data file
Keywords:
pilot, military
Categories:
generalized linear models;
health
Description:

The data come from a study of pilots exposed to G-forces. In military pilots, these G-forces (during violent manoeuvers for example) can deprive the brain of oxygen and cause black-outs. Glaister & Miller (1990) recreated the symptoms by exposing volunteers' lower bodies to negative air pressure, also decreasing oxygen to the brain.

There are eight observations on three variables (including pilot identification).

Variables:
Subject The ID of the subject
Age The age of the subject in completed years
Signs Whether signs of black-outs; 0 mean No; 1 means Yes
Data Quality:
There are no missing values.
