Description:

The data give the percent of car crashes for most States and Territories of Australia (and national figures) by Zodiac sign.

There are 12 observations for each of the National figures, figures for five states of Australia, and the ACT, the sign and the number of days per sign.

Variables:

Sign	The Zodiac sign
Days	The number of days in each sign (this is the best I can determine; I realize these figures may vary.)
National	National percentages
QLD	Queensland percentages
NSW	New South Wales percentages
ACT	Australian Capital Territory percentages
VIC	Victoria percentages
TAS	Tasmania percentages
SA	South Australia percentages

There are no missing values.

After seeing a report in the Australian newspaper called "Capricorns nations worst drivers" (seen on the website www.news.com.au, June 17, 2003, reported by Sam Edmund), I contacted AAMI direct for the full data; this was graciously supplied by Christine Elmer.

Notes:

• The data come with the caveat:

  Data supplied by AAMI is based on national 2001-2002 claim statistics (excluding Northern Territory and Western Australia, as AAMI does not operate in those areas). Please note that star signs are not considered when determining premiums.

• The data, of course, show no significant difference between signs.
• The number of days in each sign is the best I can determine; I realize these figures may vary.
• The number of days in Pisces is given as 29.25 to account (roughly) for leap years in February.
