Description:

The data give the mean number of daily admissions and daily discharges for heart attacks victims in medium-sized hospitals in Ontario, Canada.

There are seven days, over two variables.

Variables:

Day	The day of the week (Monday, Tuesday etc.)
Admissions	The average number of daily admissions
Discharges	The average number of daily discharges

Data Quality:

There are no missing values.

Notes:

• The admissions are very close to uniformly distributed; the discharges show a large increase on Friday, and then a drop over the weekends.
• The numbers have been deduced from Exhibit 7.17 (page 190) of the source, which give the data as percentages of a total deduced using the graph and a ruler. It would be wise to consider the data to be accurate to about plus or minus 10.
