Description:

Daily average wind speeds for 1961--1978 at 12 synoptic meteorological stations in the Republic of Ireland.

There are 6574 observations on 15 variables (including year, month and day).

Variables:

Year	The year, where 61 corresponds to 1961, etc.
Month	The month (1 is January, etc.)
Day	The day in the given month
RPT	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Roche's Point
VAL	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Valentia
ROS	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Rosslare
KIL	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Kilkenney
SHA	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Shannon
BIR	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Birr
DUB	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Dublin
CLA	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Claremorris
MUL	The average daily windpseed (in knots) at Mullingar

Notes:

Sixteen of the average daily windspeeds are exactly zero. The mle for the Tweedie (power-variance) model is about 1.3.
