This will be the 5th Annual Queensland Conventicle.

We have presenters from seven Queensland universities.

Why come?

The Conventicle brings together researchers with a common interest in computing education. Benefits include the following.

Papers presented at the Conventicle will usually have been presented or published elsewhere, prior to the conventicle.

The Conventicle provides an opportunity for professional development, and for academics to meet, discuss ideas and consider collaborations.

The Conventicle is open to all who wish to attend, but of particular interest to researchers and instructors of...

  • Computing Science Education;
  • Information Systems Education;
  • Software Engineering Education; and
  • Related research.

How can I be involved?

There are two ways you can be involved.

  1. Submit - Present
    • Works that have been accepted in a refereed journal or conference since the last Conventicle which occurred in May 2007.
    • In exceptional cases, older works and advanced works in progress will be considered.
    • While it is expected that the majority of attendees will be academics from Queensland, submissions are welcome from interstate.
    • Publications will not be refereed but will be considered by a committee. Publications of broad interest to the local Computing Education Community will be chosen.

  2. Attend - Participate
    • You don't have to submit a paper before you can come. All are welcome!
    • There are no registration costs, but we need to know if you are coming so we can cater for you.

  • Submission Deadline: Friday 8th May (Submit)
  • Registration Deadline: Friday 22nd May (Register)
  • Event Date: Friday 5th June
  • Event Time: 10am to 4pm (incl. breaks)
