Conditions of entry

Lodgement of an entry will be considered acceptance of the following conditions.
  1. The "mixed" doubles for underage events mean either a mixed sex team, or a team with at least one player from a lower age group, or both. For example, valid teams in the U/18 "mixed" doubles include: a male and female both U/18; a male U/18 and a male U/15; two females both U/15.
  2. The tournament will be held under TTQ and ITTF rules and regulations.
  3. Matches in the two open singles events will be the best of seven, 11 point games; all other matches are the best of five 11 point games.
  4. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
  5. The decision of the Referee will be final on a point of law. An umpire whose decision will be final on a point of fact shall control each match.
  6. Seedings, gradings and acceptance of entries are at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
  7. The top seeded players (top 2 or top 4 at the discretion of the Tournament Committee) in the Open Singles event (Event 1) are not eligible to play in the Special Singles and Special Doubles events.
  8. All players must be registered members of clubs or associations affiliated with TTQ or TTA.
  9. 40mm 3 star orange balls will be used for all matches.
  10. All players are expected to be available to umpire matches.
  11. Players not available to play when called upon will be liable to disqualification.
  12. Players participate at their own risk and no claim for injury will be recognised.
  13. Any event with fewer than four entries may, at the discretion of the Tournament Committee, be cancelled or combined with another event without prior notification.
  14. Players may enter any event for which they are eligible, although players from lower grades may be balloted out of higher grades that have large entry numbers.
  15. No player is to enter more than six events on each day (doubles and singles are counted as separate events).
  16. Doubles players must ensure that their partner has submitted a separate entry form. If a partner is required, show "required" in the space provided.
  17. Entry fees must be paid in full before or immediately on arrival at the centre before playing any event.
  18. Bad language, offensive or unsportsmanlike behaviour or wilful damage will not be tolerated; offenders will be liable to disqualification and the cost of necessary repairs.
  19. Dress regulations will be enforced. During play, caps, other headware or accessories may only be worn with the permission of a Referee.
  20. Age events:
    1. over 40, 50, 60 years of age during 2008;
    2. under 13, 15, 18 and 21 is age at 1 January 2008.
  21. Starting times are approximate. All players are requested to report to the control table on arrival, at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the event.
  22. It is the responsibility of each player to ensure that racket coverings are attached to their racket blade with adhesives that do not contain harmful volatile solvents. No gluing nor re-gluing of rackets is permitted inside the playing hall.
  23. In all events, prize money will be paid if six or more players/pairs participate. Prize money will be 50% for winner and 25% for runner up of entry fees received.
  24. Where entry numbers and the timetable permit, the Tournament Committee will endeavour to provide each player at least two matches in each event by incorporating a Round Robin system.
