  • Foster research in the areas of:
    • general database theory;
    • semistructured databases and XML;
    • data mining and knowledge discovery;
    • content management, ems, and cscw;
    • e-commerce and web services;
  • Foster teaching, notably:
    • establish Data Management major content;
    • review data-related course content;
    • assure quality in teaching of data-related courses.

The Databases Interest Group at the University of Southern Queensland invites staff, students and external participants with interests in Mathematics and Computing to meet on a regular basis to consider emerging issues in the area of data management.
