Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

  • The article must be submitted as a PDF file suitable for printing or viewing with Acrobat Reader.
  • Authors are encouraged to prepare their papers in Latex; other forms of electronic source will usually also be useful. Good quality electronic source makes the typesetters' work much easier and so the authors of such source can expect their papers to be dealt with more promptly and with fewer errors.
  • Each typescript should include:
    • an abstract of not more than 150 words, preferably containing no formulae, and certainly containing no complicated formulae and no references;
    • 2000 Mathematics subject classification (Amer. Math. Soc.);
    • if the title is long, a shortened form of it, no more than forty characters in length, including spaces.
  • Explain clearly what symbols are to be set in special typefaces (such as cursive, fraktur, script, bold) where this is not clear from the typescript or electronic source. The standard mathematical fonts issued by the American Mathematical Society are available to the typesetters but any other fonts or special symbols are available, if at all, only by special arrangement.
  • Avoid abbreviations, such as Thm., Prop., Ex., iff, i.e., e.g., and in the text avoid also symbols such as $\forall,\ \exists,\ \Rightarrow$, and $\Leftrightarrow$.

  • When available, provide the DOIs (preferred) or URLs to access references online, including those for open access versions of the reference.

      Submission Preparation Checklist

      As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

      1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
      2. The submission file is in PDF document file format.
      3. This submission is NOT a revision of an earlier submission. Revisions of earlier submissions must be uploaded via the "Author Upload" boxes on the "Review" and "Editing" pages for the earlier submission.
