Where to find Us - What Happens at Meetings
At present there are meetings held each fortnightly. We are in the process of finding interested persons in order to have enough people coming along to make a meeting worthwhile. If you are interested in becoming part of the THUUG/LUG, please sent an email to the mailing list so you will get information regarding future meetings as soon as it is availiable.
USQ LUG and THUUG gatherings are held at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, Queensland Australia.
The gatherings are normally held in room K305, which is located in the demountable Tutorial Labs on the western side of the USQ Campus, near the large gravel carpark. A map of the USQ Campus is located at the bottom of this article.
The User Group is composed of a group of interested members of the Toowoomba and University of Southern Queensland community. Members of the general public, staff and students of the USQ are more than welcome and are encouraged to attend.
The User Group is designed to allow people with an interest in computers in general and Linux and Unix based Operating systems to meet other like minded people. At the meetings, members are encouraged to meet and talk to other people, share ideas and get help and assistance with Linux.
The User group caters for people of all levels of experience with Computing and Linux/Unix Operating Systems. We all had to start somewhere, and there are a number of regular members that have extensive experience in IT & Computing fields, that are always willing to provide help and assistance. So you are a beginner, then please do not feel that you will be unwelcome. Even the newest and in-experienced users can contribute even if it is just in helping to introduce other new members and help them with little things.
This year we are hoping to grow the group to a large enough number of people so that the group can become self sufficient and not require the constant involvement of a core group of people who have been the driving force of the group for the last couple of years.
The group is not Incorporated or in any way formalised at this stage. Thus there are no membership fees or any costs involved with being a member.
