ISO Latin-1 Coded Character Set

The ASCII character set contains 128 characters (the first seven bits of a byte), the ISO Latin-1 character set contains 256 characters (the full 8 bits of a byte).

The table below lists the extra characters available with the ISO Latin-1 character set. To use the characters below in an X/HTML document use either the Name or the Code inside the &...; construct.

For example, the pilcrow symbol (¶) can be included in an X/HTML document by either ¶ or ¶.

The characters below are not necessarily supported by all browsers. If you have gaps in column three, except for the no-break space, then your browser or operating system does not support that symbol.
